More people to be eligible for Medical Assistance beginning March 1

Starting March 1, additional low income people will be eligible for Medicaid benefits under expansion of Minnesota's Medical Assistance (MA) program. Adults without children under age 21 in the home with incomes at or below 75 percent of the federal poverty guideline ($677 a month or $8,124 a year for one person) will qualify for Medical Assistance (MA). This includes people who are currently enrolled in General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) or MinnesotaCare. More information about the MA expansion is available online.

Anyone who suspects public assistance fraud (health care providers or recipients of cash assistance, child care assistance, food support and health care) can report it anonymously to the Department of Human Services (DHS).
